We have finally finished up our Thank you cards and will be mailing them out this week. Thank you all for being patient with us during this process. Being in school this past month had really cut down on our time to get to work on these things, but they're finally done!

Married Life

Today marks the week-iversary of the wedding and all I have to say is that it has been nothing short of amazing!
The honeymoon was the best week/vacation I have ever had. We drove down to San Antonio the first day, checked into our hotel and took a river cruise on the river walk. But first, the hotel. We stayed in the St. Anthony which is a historical hotel in the river walk area of San Antonio. I don't even know what else to say about it. The room was great, had this king-sized four post bed, great bathroom, and a tiny TV. The TV wasn't a problem though because I don't think it was ever on.
The cruise/tour on the river walk was pretty cool. We just enjoyed spending time on the water seeing cool things. After the tour, we walked on the river, looking for a restaurant. We decided on this Mexican restaurant called The Original Mexican Restaurant. The salsa was the first thing that knocked our socks off. It was not too spicy for Samm to enjoy, was really tasty to offset the lack of spice, which all led to Samm and I devouring it! We split the fajita plate because it was so big and that was all delicious too. But the best part of the meal was this little mariachi band that approached our table and asked if they could play for us. We had recently talked about Samm having her wallet and having cash for tips so I asked them to pick a song and play for us. However, I had sorely misunderstoood what Samm had just told me, in that she actually said that she did not have her wallet. Needless to say, we were both blushing from embarrassment once the band finished playing.
The next day we checked out, parked our car on a surface lot and decided to go check out the Alamo and possibly Ripley's. It was so hot, that after we had looked around the Alamo for a bit, we decided just to hit the road and look out for lunch.
On the road down to Corpus Christi, we were seriously craving Taco Bell but didn't want to stray too far from the directions to find one. Doing this, however; meant that we didn't find one until we got into Corpus. We did notice that Whataburger was founded in Corpus Christi, which means that for every other fast food burger joint on the road, there was a Whataburger. It was almost exactly a 1:1 ratio for Whataburgers to every other burger place.
Once we got to Mustang Island, we headed to the state park to get camp set up. In this state park, we found that you could camp right on the beach. Once we got camp set up, we went out to the water and discovered that this part of the beach was COVERED in crabs. Samm was bitten/pinched first and I was soon afterwards. Those little buggers kept us from getting too far out into the water on this beach. That night we tried to set up a campfire to cook some hotdogs and make some smores, but the wind and the wet ground kept the fire from really getting going, so we had cool hotdogs and no smores.
The following day, we woke up super early because of the sunrise. We couldn't check into our next hotel until 4 PM, so we had some time to kill. We walked up and down the beach, collecting shells and mussels and trying not to get pinched. We broke down camp, went into town for lunch and found out that our room was ready early so we went ahead and checked in.
The next hotel was on the island, right across the street from the beach. Once we were checked in, we jumped into our swimsuits and checked out this beach. This one did not have the same issues with crabs so we were able to go out quite a bit further in the water. We ended up staying for only about an hour because we were both a little burned from that morning. After we were back in the hotel room, we cooked the remainder of our hotdogs on the stove and made some delicious smores in the microwave.
On our last day, we were thinking about checking out the Texas State Aquarium, but decided that it probably wasn't worth the $40 it would have taken to get us in. We grabbed some breakfast from the hotel, packed up and hit the road for the next 10 hours until we got back to Lubbock.
Since then, we have been splitting time between her parents' house and the apartment, and I have started my summer classes. But again, these past two weeks have been amazing and I love saying that I have a wife. I love her more than I could have imagined and I am so excited for our little family!

We are up on 26 more days!!!
The last of the invitations are being mailed either today or tomorrow. We had intended on hand delivering, but we haven't seen these individuals, and it's taking too long. I want to get them out!!
Things are coming to a close now. We have gotten most of everything tangible that we need. Since I can remember, we have gotten the finishing touches on the table centerpieces, the cake topper, the wedding bands, and I talked to a DJ. He hasn't gotten back to me yet, he has a family reunion that weekend, so we are planning on doing the music ourselves, which is hardly a problem.
It's going to be amazing! We have decided on the decorations, we have the supplies and even done a trial run, which was simple but exciting!
We recently got back from Albequerque, where we got the necessary temple clothing. That was pretty exciting.
We have also checked out a few apartments for when Spencer's lease is up. Bear Creek and Jackson Square. They are inexpensive (relatively), and really nice! Very homely. We are going to check out a townhouse on Wednesday, and possible another place before we decide.
I guess that wraps up this update.

Yes! Invitations are on the last leg. We are serious this time! They should be mailed today, the ones that are being mailed. (Which sits at 101). The rest we are going to do our best to hand deliver (another 100, roughly, give or take) by the end of the week.
Big Girl Drs Appointment... Do I care to comment? lol Ah Spencer, I love you.
It wasn't that big of a deal! Usually, new things scare me, and I do my little girl dance of "I don't waaaant to!". I think Spencer is just bragging by telling about it because there was no little girl dance. I put my Big Girl Panties on and went, and it wasn't that big of a deal. (The joke of "Why put your Big Girl Panties on if you are just going to take them off?" circulated my household that day.) If it weren't a doctor, it would have been weird. But he was cool, no big deal!
Moving forward. We kind of let time get away from us. After postponing the wedding a semester due to scheduling conflicts, etc., we are back on top of things! We thought "Ugh, that's so far away! Oh well, at least we aren't stressing out anymore", and we let time slip away a bit!.
We are on track, though, and working hard! For being a wanna-be exercise-guru,my goal is to get everything done in April that we can, and use May to focus on us! We were kind of doing P90X earlier this year but... I take the fault in use quitting. Whenever I start to exercise, I forget to start slowly, and my immune system doesn't like it and I usually get sick one way or the other. Then I just got lazy. So in May, we are starting up May Madness again! I think we need a different name, that was for May 2009. ...Oh, I think we are calling it Bring It, May , BIM for short.

Invitations!

I finally got around to putting up the wedding countdown over there on the sidebar. It's nothing fancy but I had to create it myself on some website generating some HTML code. Either way, it's up to keep tabs on when our big day is!
Anyways, we have started handing out some of the invitations while we were in Dallas over spring break to some of my friends and family. We had only printed up something like 20 or 25. We are getting the other 200+ envelopes addressed now and we will be printing the final invitations in the next few days. We hope to have these out in the next week or so, but that's being optimistic.
Other than that, we have been kind of dragging our feet (we know, we only have 2 months left, there is definitely not room for that). We have gotten a few things out of the way though. I don't know how to say this lightly and delicately, but Samm had her "big girl" doctor's appointment today. Apparently, she didn't have the horrific experience that some others have. Anyways, that is all I am going to say on that. I'm sure if she wants to share some more on that she will, but I will not.
I think it is starting to sink in that we have 2 months left! We still have so much to do, but it seems like we have plenty of time. We are still trying to keep everything in front of us so we don't forget something and not leave it to the last minute. We're still working out details on the decorations and food, stuff like that. Believe me, it's been an adventure so far. No stress freakouts or anything like that, but it's definitely starting to sink in that this is creeping up VERY quickly.
Oh, one more thing we are working on! We are still trying to plan the honeymoon and make reservations. We are really liking the idea of going down to the coast (somewhere, probably Corpus Christi) and possibly even spend 1 night camping on the beach. We are really excited, but like a lot of other things, no real plans yet.

After many hours of designing, picture taking, editing, cropping copying and pasting, thousands of hole-punches, corners and paper-cutting, and some assembly,!!!.... we have finished some of the invitations.
If you haven't given us your address, time is swiftly running out!
I'm really excited about these suckers. We took our own photos, designed everything on our own, and threw them together. Blooper of the week!: We had to make our own Target Registry cards because the one we went to completely robbed us of our complimentary bag-o-stuff. After much stressing that wasn't even worth it, after printing page after page and cutting rectangle after rectangle, I notice a typo. "www.targert.com." It was such a stressful day that all I could do was one of those pitiful "I give up" laughs. My sweet, loving sister wouldn't accept a pitiful "I give up" laugh for an answer, so with her help, we printed out more and cut them out in a third of the time it took me in the first place. Shout out to Jenni!! I really appreciate the help! ♥
Success of the week: These works of art know as announcement/invitations, all together, cost less than $50! *high fives all round*

Yesterday Samm and I went to go register for gifts. We hit up Bed Bath and Beyond and went biserk!
We were there for over two and a half hours and we were scanning like crazy. We went over just about every inch of that store and you would be able to tell by looking at the length of our list. We ended up with 9 pages and something like 160 items. We scanned sheets, towels, kitchen utensils and appliances and everything in between!
Anyways, for the most part we had a blast and we are both really excited about starting our lives together in our own place.
We are planning on registering at Target as well, but we were a little burned out after our time at BBandB.
Other wedding plans we are working on:
Our announcements are pretty much layed out, we have the pictures picked out, we just have to go print the pictures, print the announcement and put everything together. We have most of our address list put together and just need to get all the pieces together. We're re-evaluating our decoration plans for the church to make sure everything is a go. We've set up times for Samm's endowment and our sealing in the temple.
Things are moving! We are really excited now that this is only about 3 months away.

Valentine's Day

So this Valentine's Day was great! Last week was our one year dating anniversary. As Spencer said, we went to Joe's Crab Shack and ate yummy crab stuffed shrimp! He also got me beautiful tulips (the same flowers that he got me for Valentine's Day last year) and a very funny card! For Valentine's Day this year, he got me some sweet little goodies and a handwritten note. I went back and read his handwritten note from last Valentine's Day. It was really moving to see not only how our love has progressed, but how truly present it was, even in the very very early stages of our relationship.
He also bought steak and other sides and made me a steak dinner! It was amazing! Spencer has a picture on his facebook profile if you want to see what it looked like.
Poor guy, three weeks in a row, this truly is the Love Month! First our date-iversary, then Valentine's Day, then next week is my birthday! He's so sweet, I'm so excited!

Progress ever more

Posts have been few and far between these past few months since we decided to post-pone the wedding, but things are still working on our front. We have taken our engagement pictures and are working on putting together our announcement/invitations. We are heading out soon to register and we hope to get these things out in the mail here in the next week or so. No, we are not going to post pictures JUST yet, you have to wait!
Other things that we have been working on is finalizing dates and times with the ceremony and temple itself and things there are moving along. We are still working on decorations and making sure everything is going to be all beautiful for our big day. Anyways, wedding plans are still moving along.

Monday was our 1 year anniversary of dating. February 7, 2010 is the day that we had decided that we wanted to be official and exclusive and shut down the "talking stage!" haha BEST. DECISION. OF. MY. LIFE. hands down. What did we do to celebrate our special day you might ask? Well let me tell you.
On our 6 monthiversary, we went to Joe's Crab Shack and had their crab stuff shrimp and absolutely fell in love with it! We have been wanting to go back sometime, but just haven't been able to make the plans. Anniversary comes around and we decide that we could not put it off any longer. We headed back and just DEVOURED those little guys. SOOO tasty.
I'm getting a little ahead of myself here. Before dinner, we exchanged cards and Samtha got a little pot of red tulips. Samtha completely out did me here. I hit up United before heading to meet her before dinner and I picked out some flowers and found a pretty funny card and wrote a little "I love you," in it. Samantha, on the other hand, hand wrote an amazing letter and even had a few doodles on it. She even hand made the envelope that the letter was in.
Score: Samantha 1, Spencer 0
But just wait. I've got my chances coming up with Valentine's Day on Monday and her birthday the next Monday. We will see how that score ends up...haha

It's been busy, but I figured I'd go ahead and post again instead of waiting for Spencer any longer.
We've enjoyed our vacation, but we are back in the swing of things. Wedding planning is back on the table. We have already seen the family get back into it as well, which is a little frightening. We absolutely appreciate their help, but we want their help, not have them plan the wedding for us. If you want to give me any ideas, family, either email the whole list to me at once, or tell me one at a time. When you list out every idea you have ever had in a row (exaggeration), I get frustrated and shut down. As any normal human being would.
Moving on, we have our outfits and date set for taking engagement pictures. I'm a little nervous because everything is yellow and brown here in Lubbock, but what can you expect? It's winter! And we can't wait any longer to get the announcements out. Anyone have any pretty places that don't need green grass and flowers to look pretty?
If worse comes to worst, we can always send out some of the pictures we took with our family. We have a few but they aren't the best. (Our family was not impressed with that photographer at all.) The only good pictures were Spencer's and mine because we set them up (location and poses, etc.) But that's a different story altogether.
We were thinking about Mackenzie Park (the pretty side) but it's dead! Which I guess isn't a bad thing if the grass isn't green, it'll make our outfits stand out that much more, but our second outfit include a lot of yellow... oh well, this will work. My sister also suggested Ransom Canyon. But if you have any other suggestions, please let us know!

When you list out every idea you have ever had in a row (exaggeration), I get frustrated and shut down. As any normal human being would.
Moving on, we have our outfits and date set for taking engagement pictures. I'm a little nervous because everything is yellow and brown here in Lubbock, but what can you expect? It's winter! And we can't wait any longer to get the announcements out. Anyone have any pretty places that don't need green grass and flowers to look pretty?
If worse comes to worst, we can always send out some of the pictures we took with our family. We have a few but they aren't the best. (Our family was not impressed with that photographer at all.) The only good pictures were Spencer's and mine because we set them up (location and poses, etc.) But that's a different story altogether.
We were thinking about Mackenzie Park (the pretty side) but it's dead! Which I guess isn't a bad thing if the grass isn't green, it'll make our outfits stand out that much more, but our second outfit include a lot of yellow... oh well, this will work. My sister also suggested Ransom Canyon. But if you have any other suggestions, please let us know!
The Three Bears

Christmas this year looked to be a disaster. After a big family feud, we all decided that we were just going to do all of our family festivities on Christmas Eve. This left Christmas morning to each individual family to celebrate privately. This also left Spencer and I an opportunity to share our first Christmas together.
This Christmas made my top #1. (Necessary redundancy because it was that amazing!)
Christmas Eve was more fun than we thought it would be after the feud. Then Christmas morning, I grabbed Tori (who was just as excited as I was to spend Christmas at Spencer's), grabbed stockings and a few last minute things, and went to Spencer's apartment.
Everything was perfect. We turned on Christmas music while we ate breakfast, complete with Reese's Puff cereal, and enjoyed each other's company and the few Christmas decorations that went unused at my parent's house. It may not seem like much, with just a tiny Christmas tree with a bunch of plastic ornaments and our one personal ornament I got from Shayla, a couple of Santa hats (that, when not on our heads, we decorated the TV with), a few red bows, some LED icicle lights that we strung around the kitchen bar, and a porcelain-like Christmas tree that lit up that Preston broke.
It couldn't have been better. Tori opened her stocking, consisting of a soft pig that squeaks, and a rawhide which she devoured in less than an hour. Then Spencer and I started opening gifts. I won't boast and brag about what I got, nor what I gave, but just getting spend such a wonderful holiday with my favorite person was enough happiness for me to share. Add my favorite bearkins, and I felt so spoiled! We may not be married yet, and Tori may just be our adopted fur-child, but we felt like the happiest little family there ever was.

Tag I'm it? Thanks for posting, Spencer :). The lasagna was good, but both Spencer and his mother helped me so I can't take all the credit.
Also, the tender baked chicken and french onion soup... they were okay too. Spencer would beg to differ and say they were amazing, but I think he's biased ;). It was pretty good, but how does someone like me take credit for a good meal? It's just following the recipe... right? I suppose I've even messed that up a time or two. lol
After that, we tried some baked chili-garlic chicken. That was pretty good. Critic Spencer deemed it "A repeat!" kind of meal. lol Only one more chicken recipe left. Broiled garlic lemon chicken. After that, broiled salmon! Yes, Spencer. Fish. It's good for ya ;). Think of it as Sammon. Maybe you'll love it more haha!... bad joke.
I feel a bit like Julie and Julia, which is in no way a bad thing since I adore both Amy Adams and Meryl Streepe, (I'm not sure I know how to spell her name...). I also adore that movie so win-win.

Thanksgiving 2010

Samantha and I spent Thanksgiving with my family back in Mesquite and it was really great. My mom went all out on the food and had enough food for 4 or 5 meals for 20 people. It was ridiculous. There were all of the usual suspects of Thanksgiving dinner, turkey, ham, dressing, green bean casserole, pea casserole (or something), mac and cheese, rolls, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, and probably a whole other table of food that I can't remember. Or maybe I don't want to remember it. I am so full (and tired) of Thanksgiving, I don't want to look back. I don't want leftovers from Thursday.
Samantha made lasagna for my family on Wednesday night and it was a hit. My family loved it! Of course I knew they would, but she was a little worried. My mom tried helping out, but it was making Samantha even more self conscious about her cooking so we tried to occupy her with something else. Anyways, this lasagna was even better than the last pan (which was amazing in and of itself - it made it on facebook).
Tonight she is making another one of her recipes, Tender baked chicken and french onion soup. It is still in the preparation stage, so I haven't had it yet, but I am looking forward to it immensely!
Another side note, it is snowing a few miles north of Lubbock and we might see some if the temperature drops enough.

Back when the Earth was flat...

You could say that I fell off the map! Well, the Earth isn't flat and I am still here.
Samm has already mentioned that we are pushing back the wedding until May, but let me reiterate that this would have been such a hectic and stressful few months if we had tried to trudge through this and get married. I looked at the calendar the other day and realized that it was November 18th, one month exactly before we were originally going to get married. I laughed and scoffed at the fact that we were brave enough to think we could plan all this in that amount of time.
Anyways, since then Samm and I have been taking it easy with the wedding planning and all that. We still have our flowers and everything (luckily we were going with silk) but our colors are still up in the air as of now. Samantha thinks navy blue might be a little dark for summer, I think it would be fine. What say you, reader?
With the date change, we might even be changing venue too. A major reason why we were planning on having the ceremony and reception at the church was money and secondary to that was weather! Well, weather now is a little less of an issue being that it won't be freezing outside; money will still be a deciding factor on whether or not we even look to do it outside. I say we look for a way to do it outside and just party to out hearts' content, but I do not think either of us have deep enough pockets to throw that kind of reception.
On a side note, Thanksgiving is this week! I am the biggest fan of true fall and winter! I know those two are usually an after thought here in the great state of Texas, but this is by far my all-time favorite time of year! I love the color changes. I love the brisk air and the fog your hot breath makes when it hits the coldness known as winter. On top of all that, though, is the AMAZING food served at Thanksgiving! My family does it big and I am more than ready to plop down after our Thanksgiving lunch/dinner (linner??) and be totally unable to move, but be loving every second of that full stomach of amazing, family-comfort food. Samantha and I are spending this Thanksgiving with my family in Mesquite (as we agreed to split the holidays with the families; we will be spending Christmas with her family here in Lubbock) and we are set to drive to Dallas tomorrow night!
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I am grateful for my family and all the love and support they have shown me over the years and through my many undertakings. I am extremely grateful for Samantha and that Heavenly Father has seemed me fit to have such a blessing as her in my life! I love her more and more everyday and am looking forward to spending the rest of eternity with her. I am grateful for electricity, and it's return to my apartment complex after being temporarily suspended whilst I was in the middle of writing my MCOM Law paper that's due in the morning. I now have very little motivation to finish it, and I was reminded to update our blog, so I took this opportunity.
We need to add a music player on the sidebar, right? The Fray is favorite and should be making their debut on our blog in the coming future!
Winter Turns to Spring

Well, after much deliberation, much hacking and coughing, much stress, and then sighs of relief, we have decided to postpone out wedding.
We started thinking about it the first time I got sick, not from infection but from stress. This sickness is on a vicious cycle now and I suspect mono again, which makes sense why this is the third cycle of this same illness in two or three months. Anyway, the more we talked about it, the more reasons came up that maybe December wasn't such a great plan. Yes, we really wanted a Winter Wedding, and no, we didn't see any reasons to wait, and we probably could have made it work, but in this case, we weren't willing to make the sacrifices to make it work.
For starters, stress. Stress, stress, stress. I am taking six classes and Spencer is taking five. We each have a very time demanding job, me working 30 hours and Spencer sometimes spending four or more hours for just one day on one single assignment for the rivals website. On top of which, Spencer looking for a second, more steady and stable job, which seemed really crazy trying to do that before December. Also, it's only two months away. Not only was I dealing with my stress with time, but my family's as well. They are wanting to help but always constantly bombarding me with suggestions and questions, it became so overwhelming! We just want to be able to enjoy our wedding, not stress stress stress unil it's "finally over".
Also, he has a member of his family who is also having a wedding on December 18th. Neither of us knew about the other one's wedding, so no one is to blame, it's just a horrible coincidence. We didn't want to make his family decide between the weddings, so another reason to postpone.
As aforementioned, Spencer has a job writing for the rivals website. This is a good job for him, good experience, but I personally see it more as an internship-type job, and we are lucky they are paying him at all. However, it's not enough to support himself much less the both of us. My income might but we don't like to live in the world of Maybe. What if I lost my job? Where would we be? Anyway, it was going to be an amazing feat for him to find another more stable job by December, so another sigh of relief knowing that we have until May.
Oh by the way, we have decided to postpone until May. Well, late May, possibly early June. No offense to all out there, but I want to avoid a June wedding as much as I possibly can. However... this might not be possible. Stay tuned for a more permanent date. But... don't hold your breath, we probably won't decide until it's absolutely necessary ;)
There are a lot of other reasons why we postponed, but those are the major ones that I can think of right now and I'm about to get off work in less than 5 minutes. We were going to have a Winter Wedding, and now we are going to have a Late Summer Night wedding (so we don't have to change the colors ;) and yes, I do realize it'll still be spring..)

Bride-To-Be's Break

So, as you heard from Spence, the dress is amazing! I wish I could post pictures, but I told Spencer he couldn't see me in the dress again until the wedding. He'll have forgotten what it looks like by then, more than likely, so I'll still get to see that look on his face. You know, the groom's "look".
One thing that thrills me!: My dress has a corsette. I started talking about how if I gained weight, the dress will go out with me. If I lost weight, it'll come in with me. The lady who was helping us told me "Don't lose any weight! You have just enough around the middle so the corsette doesn't come together too soon and throws off the whole thing. If you gain weight, eat ice cream that morning!" So I guess now I just don't gain any weight and I'll be good!So, a week or two ago, I just felt like taking a day off, I didn't want to go to work, I didn't want to do anything. I just felt so overloaded.
But I didn't listen, thinking I could do anything I ever wanted, and then everything I never wanted, all in one. Turns out, I'm not capable of all that, and my body decided to give me the well deserved break. I got really sick, starting last Sunday, with a small sore throat. Each day, it progressively got worse. It was really bad Wednesday, but I had a conference call that day that I didn't want my bosses thinking, "Oh, she wants to miss the boring call so she is calling in 'sick', of course." Like my other coworkers would do. Then Thursday, even worse, but I had a test I couldn't miss, and a rescheduled class that I usually have on Tuesdays, but we rescheduled that day. I also had kickboxing and another class. In short, I had an extra class, went to work, went to institute and meeting with the bishop for the start-of-the-engagment interview before I finally decided that I am going to die if I don't take a break. None of the medicine I was trying was working, so it was really miserable.
(That was a really confusing paragraph!...Sorry!)
Nyquil and Dayquil are my miracle workers. Then only problem is I get addicted to the Quils, so I have to make sure I take them sparingly. Turns out, though, that SLEEP and REST were the best medicines for my overworked body! Plus a little spiritual refreshment through General Conference... I think I'll be ready to take up my six classes, 3 month engagement/wedding planning, and two callings plus visiting teaching again.
Not that I took a break from all of that. On my Friday and weekend off, I still had two chapters to read, two tests to take, and a paper to write. All's well that end's well though. I think I'm ready for Monday though! As ready as I'll ever be...

The dress

I know that the groom traditionally isn't supposed to see the dress before the wedding day, but Samantha and I accomplish things when we're together. Shopping is not something Samm particularly enjoys and her family is so excited that they can hardly contain it, which unfortunately sometimes evolves into complete overload. When that happens, nothing happens or gets accomplished. I'm done making excuses for why I went dress shopping with her yesterday, just let me tell you about it.
Samantha has already explained her knack for finding good sales and I shared with her that my mom and one of my aunts were able to find very beautiful dresses from David's Bridal for extremely cheap. We wanted to have two dresses for multiple reasons, but we decided to check out David's. Last night, we drove out there, fully expecting to see some nice dresses, but be disappointed with the outrageous prices.
Trying on wedding dresses is a process, let me tell you. Apparently the bride has to put on a bra-slip combo, but after that the changing of the dress happens within seconds. After some problems finding which size bra-slip combo actually fit, we started having dresses appear on the rack outside of her changing room. First one was OK, but the second one, I was absolutely blown away with. I was about to say, this is it, this is the dress. It was $350, but we also needed to add sleeves or something to have it be a little more modest and appropriate. We decided to hold onto it in case we couldn't find anything else and we decided we wanted to spend the extra money. Ohh! back up a second. The first dress had some beads and stuff in the body of the dress and Samm immediately started playing with them and picking. So we decided we didn't want anything too fancy and dressed up just for the sake of it staying together the entire night, through the reception. After that, they ended up taking a few dresses back to the floor. Anyways, she goes through a few more dresses, nothing too spectacular and we especially not having any luck finding one that would look halfway decent with sleeves, plus they were all out of our price range. Samm finally gets onto the manager for bringing so many dresses out to her that were out of our range and she mentions that there is one more that they ended up putting back on the floor because of what was said about beading and playing with it. We decided that we would look at it anyways.
Turns out that this is the dress that we both absolutely loved! We had the alterations woman bring out a shrug type of jacket thing, just something with sleeves and it looked even more amazing! The jacket was amazing and it just works well together with the dress. Anyways, Samantha and her family is going back tonight to buy the dress and jacket and they'll set up an appointment for a fitting sometime later down the road.

I was smiling at myself in the mirror today, something I rarely do, but should probably do more often (you know how a small smile can make someone's day, even your own). I realized, EW!
I got my dress today. Oh yeah, I'm just guesstimating, but I'm pretty sure I got this dress for $500 cheaper than the marked price. You can't beat that! Okay so you can, but this dress is... ah! So gorgeous. If I can find a picture, I'll post it.
But back to my tragedy. I painted a picture to show my dilemma. If anyone has any suggestions to have this fixed by Decemeber, please let me know! :)
